These terms govern your use of Passportly, a free photo editor. By using the editor, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Questions can be sent to hello@jonathanamobi.com.
Using the editor
Passportly lets you crop, resize, compress and replace the background of a photo on your device. You are responsible for choosing suitable settings, checking the result and keeping a copy of your original photo. No account or payment is required in this version.
Passportly is a photo preparation tool, not an identity verification or application submission service. References to RSU describe an available photo preset and do not imply university endorsement. Your institution decides whether to accept a photo, and its current requirements take priority over the editor’s presets.
Your photos and permitted use
Only edit photos you own or have permission to use, including any necessary permission from the person shown. You retain your rights in your photos; using the editor does not transfer ownership to us.
Do not use the service to impersonate someone, forge identity documents, commit fraud, infringe another person’s privacy or intellectual property rights, or create unlawful content. Do not interfere with the service, bypass its safeguards or use automated traffic to disrupt it.
Photo quality and limitations
AI background replacement can make mistakes around hair, clothing and other edges. Cropping and compression can remove detail. Review your downloaded photo before submitting it. We do not guarantee photo acceptance, identity accuracy or error-free results.
Processing speed and available features depend on your browser and device. Background replacement downloads model files and may use a substantial amount of data. The service and its features may change or become unavailable.
Privacy and external services
Photo processing runs on your device. Our privacy notice explains photo handling, model caching, external file requests and contact information. This version includes third-party advertising and Google Analytics, as described in the privacy notice. Changes to advertising or data handling will be reflected in the privacy notice.
Links to external websites are provided for information. Their services and policies are controlled by their respective providers.
Software and third-party rights
The editor uses third-party software and models under their respective licences. See the software notices, BiRefNet notice and ONNX Runtime notice. These terms do not restrict rights granted by those licences.
Responsibility and your legal rights
The service is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or suitability for a particular application. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate edits, rejected applications, service interruptions or loss of your local files.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer or other statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date and apply to use after they take effect. For questions or to report misuse, contact hello@jonathanamobi.com. Please do not email student identity documents or photographs for routine support.
