Privacy notice
Updated 28 October 2026
This notice explains data handling by the Passportly photo editor. For privacy enquiries, contact the publisher at hello@jonathanamobi.com.
Your photos
Choosing a photo opens it in your browser. Cropping, resizing, compression and AI background replacement run on your device. The editor does not upload your photo to our servers, an advertising network or an AI inference service, and does not use it to train models or identify you.
The current photo and edits remain in the page's working memory until you replace the photo or close or reload the page. The editor does not save photos in its persistent browser storage. A downloaded JPEG remains on your device until you delete it. Please use photos you own or have permission to edit.
Local storage
Background replacement downloads an AI model when you request that feature. The model files, approximately 98–115 MB, are saved in your browser's Cache Storage so they can be reused. These files contain model weights, not your photo. Your browser may also cache website assets. Opening the website with ?ads=false disables adverts for that tab session. This preference is stored in sessionStorage and remains active across reloads and navigation until the tab session ends. Analytics remains enabled for testing.
To remove these files, clear this website's site data in your browser settings. The background tool will need to download the model again next time. You can crop, resize and download a photo without choosing background replacement.
External services and technical data
The editor loads fonts from Google Fonts and downloads model files from Hugging Face and its delivery providers. Requests for the website and these files disclose connection information, such as your IP address, browser request details and the time of the request, to the providers serving them. They do not receive the selected photo through these file requests.
See the Google privacy policy and Hugging Face privacy policy for their handling of service data. Hosting and delivery providers may process technical request logs to deliver and secure the website. Passportly uses Google Analytics to measure visits, photo download actions and use of editing tools such as cropping, resizing, background replacement and file-size settings. Analytics events include numeric image dimensions and file sizes, output settings and tool-use indicators. They do not include photo contents, filenames, student IDs or email addresses. Google may process technical and usage information and use cookies or similar technologies. See the Google privacy policy linked above.
Advertising and cookies
Passportly loads a third-party advertising script from quge5.com. Requests to this service disclose connection information such as your IP address, browser request details and request time. The script may contact additional advertising providers and use cookies or similar technologies to process visitor and device information. The photo editor does not send your selected photo to the advertising script.
Monetag provides its own privacy policy and advertising opt-out information. Its opt-out concerns personalized advertising; it does not necessarily stop all ads and is not a substitute for prior consent where required.
Contact and your choices
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and anything you attach so we can respond. Do not send student ID documents or photographs for routine support. Correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the enquiry and applicable obligations.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal information held about you, or object to its use. Contact hello@jonathanamobi.com. We cannot retrieve a photo that remained only in your browser. You may also contact your relevant data-protection authority.
We use information to provide the features you request, respond to enquiries and maintain service security, subject to applicable law. Where processing requires consent, you must be able to decline it and withdraw it. Changes to this notice will appear here with an updated date.
